About the Authors

Brian Elliott

Brian Elliott is the Executive Leader and Senior Vice President of Future Forum, a consortium launched by Slack to help companies reimagine work in the new Digital-First world. Previously, Brian was the VP & General Manager of Platform at Slack, where he oversaw Platform strategy and execution. The Slack Platform integrates with enterprise tools from companies such as Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce, and Workday, as well as more than 2,300 other tools and services.

Before Slack, Brian was General Manager of Google Express, Google's full stack commerce platform, driving product, engineering, operations, and go-to-market functions. Prior to Google, Brian was CEO at startups like Monsoon Commerce, a software platform that services thousands of online businesses, and Alibris, a global ecommerce marketplace. Before that, Brian was a consultant with Boston Consulting Group.

Brian received a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Northwestern University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. His work has been published and cited in Harvard Business Review, Fortune, the Economist, and the New York Times. Brian and his partner Maureen are the proud parents of two fantastic young men and Yuki, the wonder dog.

Sheela Subramanian

Sheela Subramanian is a Vice President of Future Forum. Prior to this role, Sheela spent five years at Slack in several leadership roles, including as the Head of Global Enterprise Marketing, where she led the company's shift to a B2B organization. She also led the Product Marketing team, launching Slack in the enterprise segment and in dozens of new countries.

Before Slack, Sheela led growth and operations at several global startups focused on connectivity in emerging markets. She started her career at Google, where she drove marketing and strategy for a range of products. Most notably, she co-founded the Global Market Development team, where she led global and multicultural go-to-market efforts for the company.

Sheela received a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is a vocal advocate of workplace equity and serves on the Board of Stanford's Center for Studies in Race and Ethnicity. Her work is published and cited in Fast Company, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and Inc. She is the proud mom of two magical daughters and is a proud Oakland native.

Helen Kupp

Helen is the Senior Director of Product Strategy & Partnerships of Future Forum, where she leads membership program development, and strategic partnerships. Previously, Helen led the Strategy & Analytics team at Slack, where she drove various cross-functional initiatives such as international launch and strategy, building our professional services offering, and leading Slack's fundraising and direct listing efforts.

Before Slack, Helen held various bizops and product roles at Thumbtack and BloomReach, primarily focused on launching and scaling new programs and functions. Prior to a career in technology, Helen was a consultant with Bain & Company.

Helen received a BS from Caltech and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She’s a self-proclaimed introvert and a mom to a spunky toddler and a baby girl. Her playbooks are published on FutureForum.com, and she’s passionate about advocating for and creating better support for working moms and caregivers.
