Summary and Next Steps

This chapter was all about displaying lists in your app with a RecyclerView. We got one set up, connected all the required pieces like the PlayerSummaryAdapter, and even saw a slick way of bringing data in from the database. Any time you want to display lists in an Android app, you’re going to follow a similar process. Of course, things can get more complicated, as we’ll see in Chapter 11, Display Data with Paging, but the core components and ideas stay the same.

Next up is for us to do a few things to give users the ability to make the app their own. We’re going to add in user-selectable settings and themes to the app by taking advantage of the SettingsFragment class. Users will have the ability to change the number of pennies in their game of Penny Drop, how quickly the AI plays, and even how their app looks.
