Perform experiments before applying any technology or pattern again. In some cases, there is documentation with performance in simulated scenarios, but these scenarios can be simulated too much or may simply not reflect reality.

All technology developments should be adopted only after good experiments, keeping in mind sequential asynchronous scenarios, with the load in progress and with a lot of immediate loading. The experiments must be played, and preferably, submit deterministic results.
