Let's go through the following steps:
- From the Run menu, select Run configurations….
- On the left-hand side of the dialog box, you will see a Java application list.
- Select the name of the class where you will be using the GCP. You may not be able to do this until an appropriate class is created.
- Next, select the Environment tab.
- Select the New… button to bring up the New Environment Variable dialog box:
- Add GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS to the Name field.
- Add the path and the name of your JSON file to the Value field. This file was downloaded as illustrated in the previous recipe, Getting ready to use the Google Cloud Platform.
- Select the OK button. You will then see the variable added, which will look similar to the following screenshot:
