Command Syntax Conventions

The conventions used to present command syntax in this book are as follows:

  • Boldface indicates commands that are entered literally as shown, or highlight certain elements in an example that are being discussed.

  • Monospace font in running text indicates keywords in YANG and the protocols discussed, and is also used in code snippets and when quoting constructs from the code examples in running text.

  • Italics in the running text indicates arbitrary names used in the YANG models. Such names are not part of the YANG language itself. Italics is also used for XPath paths. In code listings, italics indicates a place holder that needs to be replaced.
