About the Authors

Chris Lukassen has been active in product management for more than 20 years and has worked in both start-up and established enterprises. His products have led to awards and, in other cases, to failures. His mission is to teach people to create products in such a way that they can never go back to the old method.

Chris’s inspiration is the world of martial arts, in particular jujutsu, where he continuously sees analogies with the world of product management. His first book, The Product Samurai, earned him his nickname and continues to be an inspiration for talks at conferences around the globe.

In his spare time, Chris plays anything with anything that has strings, repairs or sails his sailboat, or just has fun with his four children and loving wife.

With Robbin, he cofounded the Value Maximizers and was co-creator (and course steward) of the Professional Scrum Product Owner-Advanced course at Scrum.org. Being an active Professional Scrum Trainer, Chris trains many product managers in Scrum, Leadership, User Experience, and Metrics.

Currently he is the Chief Product Officer (CPO) at Expandior, bridging the worlds of product management and data by creating new products in newer ways.

Robbin Schuurman works as a product leader, trainer, and consultant. He leads the Product Management Academy within Xebia Academy and is co-founder of the Value Maximizers. He also supports and advises organizations in Digital, Agile, and Product transformations. Through coaching, training, and consultancy, Robbin helps Product Owners, Product Managers, and Product Leaders to improve their impact on customers, improve the agility of the organization, and improve their time-to-learn.

Robbin is also a Professional Scrum Trainer at Scrum.org, the official training and certification body for the Scrum framework. He is co-creator and course steward of the Professional Scrum Product Owner-Advanced course at Scrum.org. Robbin offers various Scrum.org certified courses, including the Professional Scrum Product Owner courses, Professional Scrum Master courses, and the Professional Agile Leadership Essentials course.

Robbin has over a decade of experience in Agile, Scrum, Project Management, Product Management, and (Product) Portfolio Management. In recent years, Robbin has fulfilled various roles in organizations, including being a Project Manager, Product Owner, Agile Coach-Consultant, Transformation Lead, Software Development Manager, and Head of Product.
