Fair Use
In general, a copyrighted work may be reproduced, distributed, or displayed for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, and research without causing copyright infringement. Such a use is called a fair use. Because fair use generally is asserted as a defense in copyright infringement cases, it is discussed in Chapter 11.
