Dedication

I dedicate this book with love to my dearest wife, Sze Wa, and daughter, Chloe, who have to endure my irregular work schedule and for their companionship when I am trying to meet writing deadlines!

Author’s Acknowledgments

Writing a book is always exciting, but along with it come long hours of hard work, straining to get things done accurately and correctly. To make a book possible, a lot of unsung heroes work tirelessly behind the scene. For this, I would like to take this opportunity to thank a number of special people who made this book possible.

First, I want to thank Executive Editor Steven Hayes, who approached me (through the recommendation of Katie Mohr, whom I worked with on my earlier book C# 2008 Programmer’s Reference) with the idea of writing a book on SwiftUI. At that time, I wasn’t sure if I was ready to work on another book, because I had just finished writing Python Machine Learning. However, as they say, old habits die hard, and before I could say no I was already working on the outline of the book. Thank you, Steven and Katie, for giving me this opportunity and for your trust in me!

Next, a huge thanks to Elizabeth Kuball, my project editor, who is always a pleasure to work with. Elizabeth has been instrumental in getting this book out on time. With her guidance, I was able to stick to the original schedule and ensure that I keep up with my writing momentum. A sincere thank-you, Elizabeth!

Equally important is my technical editor, Siamak Ashrafi. Ash gave a lot of ideas and advice during the technical review process. I learned a tremendous amount from him. Thank you, Ash!

Last, but not least, I want to thank my parents, my wife, and my lovely girl, for all the support they have given me. They have selflessly adjusted their schedules to accommodate my busy schedule when I was working on this book. I love you all!
