Productivity is valuable. Productive people get valuable and important things done. However, I have seen some productivity gurus put productivity before people. I have heard some people preach that they will only hold twenty-minute meetings—and they don’t.

I like being efficient and effective—with which I have varying degrees of success. Remember, life is about relationships. Getting more work done is great, but it isn’t the overall priority of life.

When I was beginning my career, I read a lot of time management and productivity books. One thing that struck me was how they all seemed to think that work was the only goal. I don’t subscribe to this brand of thinking. I hope you enjoy your job and become more productive, so that you can succeed and serve people well. But the richest, most fulfilling experiences of our lives come from the moments shared with others. To get the most out of your time, be sure to make room for your family and friends.

I hope you have found this book a useful tool to help you get more out of your days. By using these tips, the hours you gain from your newfound productivity will overshadow the headaches and hassles that come from time to time in our working lives.
