HOW TO USE THIS GUIDEBOOK

This book follows a natural course of events. It is essential that you read each chapter before you go on to the next. If you skip to a specific section, it might confuse you because you do not have the benefit of the knowledge from earlier chapters. Do not skip ahead.

Keep in mind the purpose of this book as you read it. It is a road map to recognition and prevention. It is intended to offer suggestions about how to reinforce a strong employeeoriented culture or begin a process leading to positive cultural change. It is ultimately about respect for the individual, for differences in gender, ethnicity, backgrounds, and even philosophies.

Image    Announce at every opportunity your commitment to create a professional work environment free of unacceptable behaviors.

Image    Align your policies and procedures to reflect your attitude and statements.
