Preface

Being new to the Corel Painter World, I was thrilled to be asked to review the tenth edition of Cher’s Painter Wow! Book. Writing a book about software and how to apply it to an artistic endeavour is in itself, a work of art.

Vanilla Hazelnut was created for Celestial Seasonings teas by Delro Rosco. Rosco used a variety of Airbrushes and Watercolor brushes to paint the illustration.

Cher is a long standing Corel Painter user and well respected Painter Master whom countless new students turn to. Her depth and experience with the product as an artist and instructor has clearly gone into this body of work. Since she was instrumental in the design of certain Painter 12 features and played an active role in the beta program, I could not think of a more suitable author. Her ability to lay out the steps associated with creating an impressionist look or producing a photo-painting are extremely well written and most certainly take into consideration who the book is for—new users of Corel Painter.

The Painter Wow! Book Tenth Edition is not a Painter 12 feature overview. It provides all the necessary steps and guidelines that digital artists can learn and apply for their own works of art. If you are new to digital art or your knowledge of Corel Painter is waning, this book is a must-have learning resource.
