ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Larry Hite has over 35 years of experience as a successful trader and investor and is one of Wall Street’s revered moneymakers. In 1972 he published the seminal paper “Game Theory Applications” in which he suggested game theory could be used in trading futures and he went on to put his theories into practice. He cofounded Mint Investment Management and led the firm to creating one of the industry’s first systematic trend following CTAs with its famous Statistical Approach to trading. He structured a groundbreaking joint venture between Mint and Man Group to create and distribute alternative investment products.

Larry created the first principal guarantee fund, Mint Guaranteed Investment Fund, and the success of this product led to his involvement in over 50 subsequent guaranteed product structures. Mint went on to be the first CTA to manage over $1 billion in assets. His success earned him industrywide recognition and he was featured in Jack Schwager’s bestselling book Market Wizards.

In 2001 Larry created a family office called Hite Capital Management where he directs his own investments and continues his research into the field of systematic trading.
