Chapter 11. Relative URLs (XML Base)

The XML Base standard provides the flexibility to reset the base location of relative URL references within a document, a feature that is important to both XLink (see Chapter 27) and XInclude (see the next chapter). This standard also generally promotes the increased use of relative references, and the shortening of such references, by allowing the base location to be re-set numerous times within a single document.
