"There is no question that XML Queries will be required in the future. The real question is whose query language will be accepted."

IN THIS CHAPTER
XML is a great tool for integrating various disjointed data sets into a cohesive whole. When using XML and databases and automatic generation of schemas to define format and content, there are a number of progressive activities from which to choose . Using a database to produce XML documents has two major facets: selection and output. In this chapter, we will examine some of the tools currently available for producing XML using a relational database, including DB2XML and Oracle tools, and see how each deals with the different aspects of database access. We will also examine XML queries and the Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) APIs to see how we can manipulate a database to produce XML.
