Chapter Four. A Quick Introduction to C#

All of the examples that you will do in this book will be written using Microsoft's new language called C#. C# is syntactically very similar to C++, but it is a much simpler language, and it has better support for object-oriented programming even though it does not support multiple inheritance. In this chapter, I give you a quick introduction to C# to better enable you to follow the source code examples that you will build in subsequent chapters. This chapter is by no means a comprehensive introduction to C#. That will require an entire book. Because a number of excellent books have already been written on the subject (I recommend A Programmer's Introduction to C# by Eric Gunnerson and APress or Professional C# by Simon Robinson et. al. and Wrox Press), there is no need for me to cover that ground. My only intention with this chapter is to give you enough to get started.
