The official definition of dynamic mapping is to detect the data types of new fields of the documents immediately during indexing, instead of first creating an index, defining the fields, and establishing its datatype mapping. Therefore, document indexing operations can be executed the fly without predefining the field mapping. Newly added fields can be picked up during indexing at any time.
