Part IIBoozang Main Concepts and Use Cases

Boozang Main Concepts and Use Cases

Thanks for your patience, let the show begin!

In Part 1, we introduced some basic concepts of testing and Test Automation and the project we will use to learn Boozang. If you skipped Part 1, no problem, I trust you will go back to it if needed.

In Part 2, we now start diving into Boozang, how to set it up, and use it. In each chapter, I will show some practical examples of our NISTA project (see section “Test Automation Stream, NISTA Setup”).

Part 2 is the biggest among the three parts of the book because we will see all the essential features Boozang offers for creating a solid Test Automation project.

In Chapter 6, “Starting with Boozang,” we will see how to start a project and give access to a team. We will also see how Boozang works “behind the scenes.”

In Chapter 7, “Main Concepts and Entities,” we will go over the main Boozang entities so that you can start implementing, running, and reporting your first simple tests with good foundations.

In Chapter 8, “Elements Location Approach,” we will take some time to understand the strategy Boozang adopts to locate web elements, one of the main aspects that sets Boozang apart from other Test Automation tools. If you are in a hurry, you can skip ahead to Chapter 9, “Exit Conditions, Conditional Flows, and Timers,” and come back here when needed.

In Chapter 9, “Exit Conditions, Conditional Flows, and Timers,” we will see some simple but powerful features you will need to implement some more advanced tests.

In Chapter 10, “Data Management,” we will do another step up and introduce the data management options that Boozang provides to make your tests modular and your project robust. Data management is a crucial aspect; make sure you understand well all the possibilities you have to pass data among scenarios and tests.

Finally, in Chapter 11, “Reporting and Troubleshooting,” we will close the circle and see how to produce and read test execution reports. We will also see how to analyze failures via root cause analysis and the Known Issues database.
