COMPARE COST—VALUE FOR THE PRICE

Cost is always a consideration, but what is included in the price can vary so extensively that selecting an instrument based solely on cost can result in a less than optimal instrument for your use.

To adequately conduct the feedback process for one manager, you would need one self-report instrument, at least three instruments for raters (usually the minimum to have rater data scored), a development guide, and an arrangement for scoring. Sometimes the cost includes all these and sometimes it includes only single copies of the instrument. Certification workshops, organizational profiles, trainers’ guides, introductory videos, and post-assessment may all be available but at additional cost. It takes thorough investigation to determine what is included in the quoted price and what supplemental services may be available at additional cost.
