Summary

This chapter covered the SOAP Toolkit in a fair amount of detail. We saw a whirlwind “re-do” of the content presented in Chapters 1 and 2. This time around, we covered the SOAP Toolkit instead of ASP.NET. You should have an understanding of how to read and write simple SOAP messages, transmit and receive complex types, and handle the raw SOAP message. Most of the code applies equally well on the client or the server. After all, SOAP messages still need to go from one point to the other, and someone needs to read and write them.

If you need to expose existing Visual Basic 6.0 code as a Web Service or add client capabilities to an existing application, you should be able to use this chapter to guide you.
