FUTURE PLANS AND STRATEGY

VESA is continuing its work on XML, network management, security, and network time support. The group has joined under CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) as the R-7.4 committee and will seek ISO/IEC approval for future versions. By working with both VESA and CEA, the committee will have improved marketing capabilities and be working with a larger group of companies. At the time of writing, the organization announced the creation of a VESA committee for the Japanese home networking market.
