Summary

There is a necessary intensity in a project manager's walkabout practice as project completion approaches. The project manager and the customer must have agreed at the beginning of the project how successful project completion will be demonstrated. As closure approaches, the project manager focuses the project team on successfully performing this demonstration. Closure also requires that a project report be prepared by the project manager and distributed to the customer and project team leaders and filed in the company's project archives.

After everything is finished, the project manager gathers the team together to review “what we have learned” and wraps it all up with a project completion celebration.
