LD. Jini Lookup Discovery Service

The Jini Lookup Discovery Service Specification allows a third party to perform an entity’s discovery duties. For example, to conserve computational resources, an activatable entity may wish to deactivate; thus, such an entity may wish to employ a separate Jini helper service to perform its discovery duties while it is deactivated. The lookup discovery service is a Jini helper service through which other Jini services and clients may request that discovery processing be performed on their behalf.
