Overview of Audio/Video Conferencing Capabilities

Office Communications Server 2007 also supports multiparty audio/video (A/V) conferencing. Like the Web Conferencing feature, A/V conferencing can be extended to external users. This includes users working remotely and federated users or anonymous participants.

While on the call, users can perform the following actions:

  • Transfer to another person

  • Transfer to another device

  • Place the call on hold

  • Invite additional participants

  • Incorporate IM into the conference call

  • Incorporate video into the conference call

  • Set and change a conversation subject

  • Mark a call as having high importance

  • Take notes by using Microsoft OneNote

  • Mute speaker

  • Mute microphone

A lot of these features are also available when using other modes of real-time communications offered in Office Communications Server 2007.
