“A good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow.”
—PROVERB
Throughout this book I’ve mentioned how busy buyers are. Yet, you are busy too, aren’t you? And that busy-ness leads to full days—mostly spent reacting to the demands of everyone else. To make sure you aren’t lost in all the reactive activity, you need to be more purposeful with your time and actions. Ernest Hemingway wrote, “Never mistake motion for action.” Even though you may put forth great effort and fill your days with activity, a scattershot approach is ineffective and benefits neither you nor your buyers.
Purposeful, focused action stems from knowing what to do with your skill, and then tapping into your will to do it. To help you identify the specific, purposeful actions that will get you where you want or need to be, this book ends with a guide to setting, planning for, and achieving your goals.
The goal achievement process outlined here will strengthen your Goal Transparency, one of the four Success Drivers discussed in Chapter 11, and lead to greater control of your time, energy, and activities.
