JAMES NUBILE

Blair H. Sheppard joined PwC in June 2012 as global leader, strategy and leadership. Before that, he spent the majority of his career as a professor and leader at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. During his tenure, in addition to his teaching and research activities, Sheppard was associate dean for executive education, senior associate dean, and dean. He was also the founding CEO and chairman of Duke Corporate Education, rated by leading business journals as the world’s top provider of custom executive education during and following his tenure. Sheppard was the primary architect of Duke Kunshan University, Duke’s campus in China, which opened in 2014. He is also a proud husband, father, and grandfather.

Five of the authors are members of Sheppard’s team at PwC—each of them a director in global strategy and leadership.

Susannah Anfield has worked for PwC and its legacy firms since 1994 and has extensive experience in leadership and senior talent development as well as being an executive coach in systems psychodynamic coaching, accredited with Tavistock, UK. In addition, she is a chartered accountant, ICAEW, and holds a bachelor’s of science in geography from Birmingham University.

Ceri-Ann Droog has worked for PwC since 2008. Previous roles include UK board strategy and serving clients on deals strategy. Before joining PwC, Droog was a business strategy manager at Ford Motor Company for eight years. She is an Oxford engineering and Cranfield MBA graduate.

Alexis Jenkins has worked for PwC since 2013 across the domains of strategy, leadership, and culture and is chief of staff for the team. Before this, Jenkins was regional director for Europe at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. She studied English, drama, and education at the University of Cambridge.

Thomas Minet has worked for PwC and its legacy firms since 1984. He has specialized in the areas of strategic and scenario planning, large account management, business development, market analysis, and competitive intelligence.

Daria Zarubina has worked for PwC since 2016 in both the Middle East and Russia firms. Previously Zarubina served as regional director for Russia and CIS at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. She holds an engineering degree from Saint Petersburg State University of Airspace Instrumentation (SUAI) and a management degree from Saint Petersburg State as well as an MBA from the University of Cambridge.

Jeffrey Rothfeder has written about business and technology for the New Yorker, the New York Times, Business Week, Strategy + Business, and numerous other publications. He is the author of eight books, including Driving Honda (Portfolio) and Privacy for Sale (Simon & Schuster).
