Part IV. Oracle Database Programming with JPublisher

For the rest of the lazy but smart developers!

If you have ever performed custom mapping of database entities, such as user-defined SQL object types and user-defined collection types, and accessed PL/SQL types and packages, Java in the database, and so on—from JDBC and/or SQLJ, you know that this can be challenging, intimidating, time consuming, and error prone. The Oracle JPublisher utility generates the Java wrappers corresponding to database entities. The generated classes can be used in JDBC, SQLJ, stand-alone Java applications, and enterprise Java components, thereby simplifying access to the Oracle Database entities. Moreover, as we will see in Part V, JPublisher can also generate proxies that expose database operations as Web services; conversely, it can wrap external Web services for the consumption of SQL, PL/SQL, and Java DB.

Chapter 13 covers Oracle JPublisher.
