About the Cover: The image on the cover has been rendered in real time in the “Human Head” technology demonstration created by the NVIDIA Demo Team. It illustrates the extreme level of realism achievable with the GeForce 8 Series of GPUs. The demo renders skin by using a physically based model that was previously used only in high-profile prerendered movie projects. Actor Doug Jones is the model represented in the demo. He recently starred as the Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
