9.10. Summary

This chapter demonstrated a number of techniques for using CSS styles to spruce up the otherwise ordinary text on a Web page. From the basic use of alignment, indentation and other techniques, the chapter demonstrated the use of positioning to create shadowed text effects, and described how to manipulate the display of lists as well.

This chapter also provided a detailed description of the role of the cascade in CSS. You now understand how to control the impact of style rules in complex page designs, where display rules may be coming from multiple sources.

Chapter 10, will take a look at how to use CSS in relationship to graphics on a Web page.
