Decision Authority of Project Manager

• The project manager had the authority to negotiate agreements with project clients (internal or external) regarding the terms, conditions and or deliverables of the project.
• The project manager was involved in specifying the project goals.
• The project manager had the authority to change priorities and or alter plans in order to achieve the overall project objectives.

Position Authority of Project Manager

• The project manager held a higher organizational ranking than did the project team members.
