Carice Anderson’s mission is to democratize access to the unwritten rules of success in high-performing environments so that people can reach their fullest potential and have more impact and fun at work. Intelligence Isn’t Enough is her first book-length offering toward achieving this lofty ambition.
Having worked as a consultant, professional development manager, and coach for more than 17 years with top companies in the United States and South Africa, Carice delights in sharing her insider knowledge while also shedding a light on the harsh realities of corporate environments.
As a first-generation corporate employee and a researcher, Carice intimately understands the pitfalls and landmines that can limit the engagement and advancement of talented Black professionals. She believes that many young Black professionals struggle early on in their careers, not because of a lack of intellectual prowess, but because they lack the necessary soft skills to successfully navigate their work environments and reach their full potential.
Carice holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Marketing from the University of Alabama. Carice began her career with Hewitt Associates (now known as Aon-Hewitt), and she has worked for top companies such as Deloitte, Korn Ferry, and McKinsey & Company. At McKinsey & Company, Carice managed a leadership development program for Black professionals. As a consultant, Carice did executive coaching, consulting, and facilitating for top firms and multinational companies in the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Ivory Coast. Carice has presented her insights to organizations such as Google, JP Morgan Chase, Accenture, Bloomberg, Bain & Company, McKinsey & Company and Johnson Matthey.
