About the Author

David H. Ringstrom, CPA, has provided software and database consulting services to businesses of all sizes since 1991. David also speaks at conferences and has taught hundreds of webinars covering Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and other topics. He has written hundreds of articles on spreadsheets, some of which have been published internationally; served as the technical editor for more than 30 books on accounting software; and is the tech editor at large for AccountingWEB (accountingweb.com) and Going Concern (goingconcern.com). David started his career with a stint in the U.S. Navy and then spent several years working in commercial real estate.

Gail Perry, CPA, is editor-in-chief of CPA Practice Advisor magazine. She’s a well-known public speaker, is the author of more than 30 books (including Surviving Financial Downsizing: A Practical Guide to Living Well on Less Money and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Doing Your Income Taxes), and maintains a small tax practice. Gail is a graduate of Indiana University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism. After returning to school to study accounting at Illinois State University, Gail earned her CPA and worked for Deloitte as a state and local tax specialist. She’s a former tax columnist for the Indianapolis Star newspaper, an adjunct accounting professor at Lincoln Land Community College, and a computer applications instructor at the Indiana CPA Society. Gail was the publisher and editor-in-chief of AccountingWEB (accountingweb.com) before joining the CPA Practice Advisor team.

An author, trainer, and publishing consultant, Lisa A. Bucki has been educating others about computers, software, business, and personal growth topics since 1990. She has written and contributed to dozens of books and multimedia works, provided marketing and training services to clients, and created online tutorials. Lisa is co-founder of 1x1 Media, LLC (1x1media.com), an independent publisher of ebooks focused on how-to topics for entrepreneurs, startup founders, makers, and other business professionals.
