About the Authors

Leonard A. Schlesinger, president of Babson College, came to the school from Limited Brands where he was vice chairman and chief operating officer. His academic career includes twenty years at Harvard Business School.

Len is the author or coauthor of nine other books including The Value Profit Chain and The Real Heroes of Business . . . and Not a CEO Among Them. He earned his doctorate at Harvard Business School, an MBA from Columbia University and his A.B. from Brown University.

Charles F. Kiefer is president of Innovation Associates, the firm that helped pioneer the body of concepts and methods now called organizational learning.

Charlie helps global companies leverage the human side of their enterprise primarily by working with executives and their teams to improve the quality of their thought. He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he received degrees in physics and management.

A long-time contributor to the New York Times, Paul B. Brown is a former writer and editor for BusinessWeek, Financial World, Forbes, and Inc. He is the author (or coauthor) of numerous bestsellers, including Customers for Life.

Paul is a contributing editor to both the MIT Sloan Management Review and The Conference Board Review. He earned his A.B. and J.D. at Rutgers University.
