Dr. Shirley Davis is an accomplished corporate executive, workforce expert, international speaker, certified leadership coach, and master of reinvention. She has consulted, coached, and presented to leaders at all levels, including boards of directors and C-Suite executives. She has also worked in more than thirty countries around the world across all industries and business sectors. She delivers high-energy, high-content, and high-impact speeches and solutions that empower individuals to achieve greatness and organizations to build more inclusive and world-class cultures where all talent can thrive.
Dr. Davis is also president and CEO of SDS Global Enterprises, Inc., a strategic development solutions firm that specializes in HR strategy development, talent management, organization transformation, diversity and inclusion, implicit bias, leadership coaching, and personal and professional reinvention.
Dr. Davis has more than thirty years of business, leadership, and human resources experience and has worked at several Fortune 100 and Fortune 50 companies in various senior and executive leadership roles in sales, operations, banking, retail, manufacturing, utilities, and financial services. Her last role prior to launching SDS Global was as global vice president of diversity and inclusion and workplace strategies for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest HR association.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in pre-law; a master’s degree in HR management, and a Ph.D. in business and organization management with a specialization in leadership. She is certified as a senior HR professional through the Human Resources Certification Institute and the Society for Human Resource Management. Additionally, she is a Certified Speaking Professional through the National Speakers Association, a designation bestowed on fewer than 20 percent of speakers worldwide. She is also a certified leadership coach through the International Coaching Federation.
Dr. Davis has been featured and quoted on NBC’s Today show, CNN.com, National Public Radio, and Fox TV, and in the Wall Street Journal, Black Enterprise magazine, The Washington Post, HR Magazine, and Inclusion Magazine. She has also been honored with numerous awards.
She is the best-selling author of Reinvent Yourself: Strategies for Achieving Success in Every Area of Your Life and The Seat: How to Get Invited to the Table When You Are Over-Performing but Undervalued. Additionally, she is a popular featured LinkedIn Learning author of four leadership courses: Inclusive Leadership, Leadership Foundations, Developing Accountability as a Leader, and Building a Diverse Professional Network.
She is a former Miss District of Columbia, Mrs. Oklahoma, and Ms. Virginia, and in 2000 won the national title Ms. American United States. Dr. Davis is active in her local community and an ordained minister and elder. She sits on several national boards and resides in Tampa Bay, Florida.
