Darrell Young is a full-time professional nature and event photographer and an active member of Professional Photographers of America, North American Nature Photography Association, and Nikon Professional Services. He’s been an avid photographer since 1968 when his mother gave him a Brownie Hawkeye camera.

Darrell also produces commercial and editorial images for two major stock agencies and has written over two dozen books about photography with specific cameras. When he writes a book on a particular camera, it is based on real-life experience with the camera in a production environment.

Living in the foothills of Great Smoky Mountains National Park has given Darrell a real concern for environmental issues and a deep interest in natural history and landscape photography. You will often find him on the trails and byways of the Appalachian Mountains, standing behind a tripod with a beautiful landscape in view.
