Eric Keller is a freelance animator working in Hollywood, California, at some of the finer design and effects houses. He got his start in the field of digital visual effects developing animations for scientific visualization at the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute, where he had the opportunity to work with some of the world's leading researchers. He has been working with Maya since version 1 was released and has been an enthusiast ever since. Along with creating animations for molecular visualization, bacterial invasion, and cellular function, Eric has pitched in on numerous animations for film, commercials, and television. He has also written articles and tutorials for industry magazines and websites and contributed three chapters to Mastering Maya 7. One of his goals is to bring the quality of feature film animation to the world of scientific visualization. He majored in music at Florida State University and would probably still be playing guitar at weddings if he hadn't accidentally rendered a chrome sphere on his home computer.
