As described in the sections below, these are the specific requirements necessary to view and use the tools and documents that are included on the companion CD.
System Requirements for OCS-All.ps1 PowerShell Script
Supported operating systems: Windows Server 2003 SP1, Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2008
Supported processor architecture: x86, x64, IA64
Installation of .Net Framework 2.0 or greater
Installation of PowerShell 1.0
All versions of PowerShell are available at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/technologies/management/powershell/download.mspx
After installation of .Net Framework 2.0 and PowerShell, refer to Appendix A, in the /Appendixes,Scripts,Resources folder on the companion CD, for detailed information about how to configure the environment and PowerShell to properly run the sample Windows PowerShell functions contained in the OCS-All.ps1 script. Failure to follow the directions in Appendix A might result in unexpected behavior of the script, up to and including loss of data.
Supported operating systems for Resource Kit: Windows Server 2003 with Office Communications Server 2007
Resource Kit tools are generally meant to extend the maintenance and management of the Office Communications Server. Because of this, it is generally expected that the user will be an Administrator-level security principal on the system on which the tool is being run. Many tools will not function properly, if at all, if the user is not an Administrator or a member of the Administrators group.
These tools are specifically for the aforementioned operating system and server system. Support on previous versions is not intended nor supported.
Documents provided on the companion CD can be viewed with Microsoft Office Word and Excel, as delivered in Microsoft Office 2000 and later. Or, viewers are available at the following locations from the Microsoft Download Center:
