Methods normally taken to improve performance

Although there are no golden or set rules to determine what management can or cannot do to improve performance, the following three elements account for most of the effort currently made when an internal solution is sought. Increasingly, for major organizations, at least, all three are brought together in one project.

• Implementing packaged systems and other technology

• Using management consultants.
