In this part of the book, we will describe the seven core competencies needed to achieve business agility. Each competency is a set of related knowledge, skills, and behaviors that is further described in three dimensions. They are independent, in that each can advance the outcomes of the enterprise. But they are interdependent, in that they build on each other and full business agility is achieved only when the enterprise masters them all. Together, they enable enterprises of all sizes to thrive in the age of software and digital.
Each competency is described in a subsequent chapter of the same name, starting with Lean-Agile leadership, which is the foundation for all the other competencies.
