Although Vegas Pro 11 is primarily designed to be a video editing program, the mother company SONY has some of its roots in the music and recording industries. Because of this, Vegas Pro 11 has some very powerful and well thought out audio tools for both recording and mixing. You could in fact use the Vegas program to record and mix the audio for your project from a full music production to simple voice over dialogue. The centerpiece of these audio tools is the mixing console.

So far we have been looking at our audio tools via the same method as we deal with video, but now we will put our audio engineer hat on and look at audio from a studio engineer's perspective.
