ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Laura Joan Katen travels over 100 days a year for speaking engagements. She divides her time by giving keynote talks at various national conferences, leading group training programs, and facilitating one-on-one coaching sessions on the topic of Communication for clients across the United States and Canada.

Laura is the author of the strategies book How to Communicate with Confidence, Clarity, and Credibility. She is president of KATEN CONSULTING, a New York–based certified 100 percent women-owned professional development training company. KATEN CONSULTING conducts group training programs and one-on-one coaching sessions in four key topics: Executive Presence, Communication Skills, Individual and Team Presentations, and Business Social Etiquette.

Laura works as an adjunct professor in the Communications Depart-ment at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York; is a Business and Dining Etiquette specialist, having attended the Protocol School of Washington; received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with extensive training in Voice and Speech from Carnegie Mellon University; and simultaneously attended Chatham College to study Education. Prior to cofounding KATEN CONSULTING in 2003, Laura began her corporate career in the financial services industry at Merrill Lynch.
