A mere 30 years ago, there was almost no T’ai Chi available to Westerners. T’ai Chi was a Chinese secret. However, today we are fortunate to live in interesting times, as the Chinese would say. In most cities today, you can find a variety of T’ai Chi styles, including not only basic forms, but the more artistic and challenging Sword and Fan Styles as well. In Part 5, feast your eyes on just a sampling of the wide variety of short forms, Sword Style, and Fan Style T’ai Chi now available to you, and then choose an adventure to embark upon. On the new Web Video Support, you’ll find exhibitions of the entire Mulan style basic short form and an exhibition video of the Fan and Sword Mulan styles as well. Throughout the rest of Part 5, you are directed at various points to view the new Web Video Support, which enhances the text explanations.

Part 5 ends with a chapter on Push Hands, explaining how this ancient aspect of T’ai Chi is not only a sparring technique but, even more important, a way to observe our state of mind and the way we may unconsciously interact with the world around us.
