Henry Mintzberg is a writer, researcher, and educator, most of whose work focuses on managing organizations, developing managers, and (most recently) rebalancing societies. This is his twentyfirst book; the others have earned him twenty-one honorary degrees. Henry sits (a) in the Cleghorn Chair of Management Studies (b) in the Desautels Faculty of Management (c) at McGill University (d) in Montreal, Canada. While devoting his professional life to studying, experiencing, and coping with organizations, he has been spending his private life escaping from them— in a canoe (where he collects beaver sculptures), up mountains, and on skates, snowshoes, and a bicycle.
