THREE MORE FORMS

If each of the four forms has a corresponding force, then each of these three additional forces can have a corresponding form, where it is predominant. When the autonomy of separation dominates, we find a Divisional Form (Chapter 14); when compelling culture dominates, we find a Community Ship (Chapter 15); and when it is conflict that dominates, we find a Political Arena (Chapter 16).

These three forms may be less fundamental than the other four, but we need to understand them nonetheless. The Divisional Form, while quite common, tends to be an extension of the Programmed Machine. The Community Ship is less common, yet examples show how striking can be its significance. So too the Political Arena, a form that tends to be temporary because it can be so extreme.
