Many of the insights and examples we use are derived from our experiences working with specific organizations. Both individually and in association with firms we have founded, including The Morriss Group, we have actively advised many of the companies in this book, including Riot Games, Uber, and WeWork. In addition, Frances has taught extensively in Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program and in private executive education settings, where she has engaged with leaders from many of the companies we discuss. Finally, some of the companies we mention are clients of The Leadership Consortium (TLC), an organization we started, where Anne currently serves as Executive Founder. These firms have sent high-potential leaders through TLC’s Leaders Program, which is focused primarily on helping women and people of color prepare for senior leadership roles.
