Jacques is an economist, corporate strategist, and advisor to multinationals and SMEs and an internationally bestselling published author, speaker, and lecturer.

Brief Overview:

Jacques has an economics master’s degree specializing in stock markets.

Currently pursuing his PhD in economics at the University of Stellenbosch, in South Africa.

Has written 14 financial books. Five are university MBA textbooks.

Jacques has been an investment and corporate strategist since 1987. He started his career as a financial journalist for the Financial Mail, before being headhunted into stockbroking.

Since 1987, Jacques has written for international publications (UK Petroleum Economist, Mail & Guardian, and Financial Mail) and undertaken corporate consultancy for international clients, including defense force, universities, and multinationals.

His experience thus includes stockbroking, business development, and corporate strategy. Before setting up Business Consultants International in July 2000, he was a director, strategist, and head of research for South African stockbrokers Global Capital Securities.

Business Consultants International concentrates on assisting entrepreneurs to restructure their firms to become more efficient, profitable, and compliant to the vast number of legislation critical to the success of any company. Jacques has developed a four-phase approach to corporate intelligence, which includes in-depth market research and analysis, due diligence, business plans, corporate profiles, and implementation strategies.

In addition, Jacques has also regularly been interviewed on SABC’s News Today, Summit TV, and CNBC Africa.

Born in Morocco, Jacques moved to South Africa and began his career for the Financial Mail in 1987, before moving into stockbroking in 1990. Today Jacques lives in Cape Town with his wife Kathy and children.

The World Federation of Stock Exchanges

The World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) is the trade association of 63 publicly regulated equities, futures, and options exchanges. Formed in 1961 and based in London, UK, the WEF is responsible for operating the key components of the global industry association for exchanges and clearing houses.

Impressively, it represents over 200 market infrastructure providers, with 41 percent of its members based in the Asia-Pacific region, 40 percent in EMEA, and 19 percent in the Americas. These comprise 45,000 listed companies, with a market capitalization of over $67.9 trillion.
