In this chapter, we had a look at the four-step recommendation made by Apple to create custom controls. You learned how to subclass UIView
to use it as a custom control. You also learned about the IBDesignable
and IBInspectable
attributes, that allow Xcode to display the control and let the user interact with it. We also saw briefly that we can debug the control in design time rather than at runtime.
In the next chapter, we will look closely at debugging.
