About the Authors

Don Macdonald has 10 years of youth and community work experience followed by 30 years’ management and consultancy experience, both in the United Kingdom and abroad, with nonprofit and public organizations providing services for disadvantaged groups. During this time he initiated a successful national charity, founded a viable social enterprise, managed social enterprises for large nonprofits and trained social enterprise consultants in Myanmar. Don has provided consultancy, research, coaching, and training, particularly for emerging nonprofits and social enterprises. He is chair of trustees for LFJ, a youth integration nonprofit. He has taught management skills, teaches nonprofit studies at the University of Greenwich and other institutions and he paints and draws.

Charles Oham lectures, consults, researches, and practices social entrepreneurship in the United Kingdom and the developing world. He is a senior lecturer in Social Enterprise at the University of Greenwich. Charles sits on the board of two social enterprises and has worked on projects that address disadvantage using social entrepreneurial and innovation models.

Sue Causton is a management coach, working with public and voluntary sector leaders, managers, and board members. Previously she worked as operations director at a large London housing association, and in youth and community projects in a range of roles. Sue has also worked in Cambodia.
