How to do it...

To create AWS CodeDeploy application, go to AWS Console and click on CodeDeploy in the Developers Tool section:

  1. Click on Create application:
  1. Then, fill the application name as AWSSTAR-CD-AN and the Deployment group name as AWSSTAR-CD-GN. Keep the deployment group in In-Place Deployment only.

  1. In the Environment configuration section, we need to choose Auto Scaling Groups. Click on the Name dropbox, then we will see the Auto Scaling group that we created AWSSTAR-LCGN:
  1. In Deployment configuration, select CodeDeployDefault.OneAtATime and then select the proper Service role Arn, which will allow CodeDeploy to access S3 and EC2 instances. Then, click on Create Application.

So, at this stage, we are done with configuring AWS services. Now, its time to setup the Jenkins Server and prepare it for the building and pipeline purpose. So, in the next section, we will be learning about setting up the Jenkins Server.
