The preparation phase of this training methodology includes the following elements:

Learner Preparation Package

A package that positively orients the learner to the training program prior to attendance sets up early expectations. The package may contain a pamphlet, booklet, cover letter, audiotape, computer demonstration, pictures, or mind map. The package should create a collaborative learning tone and emphasize the personal and professional benefits the learner can expect from the program.

Environment

Room arrangements set expectations and suggest learner activity or passivity. Clustered seating stimulates more collaborative interactions and can create a more comfortable, relaxed feeling. Provide a comfortable, stimulating environment. This includes having brightly colored walls with attractive artwork.

Peripherals

Learning is enhanced with colorful, stimulating, positive surroundings. Posters with relevant pictures, affirmations, and quotes provide subtle suggestions. Displays, plants, and floor decorations beautify and stimulate peripheral and nonconscious learning.
