10 Using Csound with MIDI, OSC, Pd, Python, and Live Audio

Although Csound was originally conceived as a freestanding, self-contained program for rendering audio files, it has been extended over the years to be compatible with various other software systems and can now be used very effectively in real time. In this chapter we’ll look at several of the more common methods of extending Csound and using it live.
